- I began a tract ministry and hospital-nursing home visitation ministry in 2005 in Oklahoma as I was winding down a long career in broadcasting. Having come from a preacher's family, I found it natural and the right thing to do by giving back to the community. In 2006 I realized that I needed to seek ordination though I had earned Masters degree in divinity from a methodist seminary...I never was ordained back in the '70s. At this point(2006) I no longer agreed with the progressive-acceptance that continues to grow in the united methodist church...that of not calling a sin a sin...the gay/same-sex movement. So I got an ordination from World Christianship Ministries...the easiest way to be licensed and ordained.
Forward to 2008, I met my now wife,Monica online and over the next few years we developed a lasting relationship leading to marriage. She's a native of Paraguay where I visited numerous times and also where we reside currently. Here I established a Bible study in our home among "expats" who are english speakers. The group has slowly grown to a level of maximum 25 or so lately. We're mostly baptists of several varieties. Our aspirations are to form a church soon; start a school; begin spanish services and to work with native pastors in the countryside.
In the near future, I will bring other pastors into our group as I am 66 now. The plan seems to have me concentrating on visitation and soul winning in the community as my spanish improves. At present the group is independent and self-sufficient not seeking financial assistance from outside.
