II. Fear: A Hindrance – Session 9 - Part B

2.   Don’t Allow Fear to Gain Foothold – Session 9 – Part B

Once the door is open to the spirit of fear, it comes in and gain a foothold in our soul. Once fear has gained a foothold in our soul, it begins to dominate our lives; it controls our EVERY move! Do you remember what I said earlier, that man is made up of three parts: spirit, soul, and body? Fear is an emotion and where are emotions housed? Emotions are housed in your soul; therefore, where does fear live? Fear lives in your soul!

1 John 4:18 tells us there is NO fear in love (God’s love does not cause us to fear)! God’s perfect love in us, cast out ALL fear (when we believe what God told us in His Word, His promises, ALL fear has to go out of our soul – we will not fear His judgement because we have accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior and our eternal life is secured by Jesus). 1 John 4:18 - NKJV goes on to say that fear has torment and the person who fears, has not been made perfect in love!

3.  Surrender unto God – Session 9 – Part B

Whose fault is it that we have not been made perfect in the love of God? It’s definitely NOT God’s fault; therefore, the fault lies in us! God has done EVERYTHING for us that needs to done, so we can be restored to Himself and live the abundant life, Jesus died for us to live! God WILL NOT force us to accept Jesus and choose Him! God has given us a choice. We choose Jesus because we love Him and want to have fellowship with God, just as much as God wants to have fellowship with us!

It is up to us to take responsibility for our own spiritual walk; to allow God to do what needs to be done in us (our soul), so we can live bondage free! As I said before, we are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27), for His purpose and to give Him glory (Isaiah 43:7); we cannot give God glory, if our souls are in bondage! Therefore, we must stand up and begin to declare and decree the Word of God ONLY over our circumstances and situations. Let’s stop allowing the devil to distort our minds with his lies! 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 tells us “3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,” (biblegateway.com – NKJV).
