We walked the way of Paul to the top of the hill. A guide brought us through a short, narrow entrance. The walls of the path at times touched our front and back at the same time as the ceiling brushed our hair. Areas of the wall were layers of graves bearing names of those who gave their life in defending the faith.

As we traveled deeper the light from the entrance gave way to the hand held touch ahead of us. Bending, stooping, deeper into the mountain the cooler temperature wa the only thing that drove away the claustrophobia. Suddenly the narrow path emptied us into a vast room. It was the meeting place of the underground church. We heard the story of miles of passageways and of Roman soldiers who lost their way in search of the early Christians.

I was reminded of the verse in Matthew, "... strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there are that find it"
I wondered, could we, could I, be as faithful under such persecution? Could I face a lion in the Arena?

We found them faithful. Their "snapshot" of life with God still tells the story.

About AOCI

The AOCI exists as a fellowship of Spirit-filled Evangelical and Jewish Clergy for the purpose of: 1) Exalting God 2) Fellowshiping and 3) Divine Networking.

We do NOT advise, nor do we seek, to bring members out of their current denomination or ministerial association. We seek to have a platform to UNITE the Clergy of the world in ways that can benefit not only the Kingdom of God, but also the men and women who faithfully serve their communities, one another, and God.
