Walk In The Spirit! Part 1

Scripture: Galatians 5:16

But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God) (biblegateway.com – Amplified).

On Sunday December 9th I had a bad allergic reaction and ended up going to the ER; through it all God got the glory and I got the victory in more ways than one (not having anything seriously wrong since during the ordeal my blood pressure went up to 192 over 102 and the lab test later showed I had a blood clot in my lungs). However, in the end, all tests were normal and I thank God!! I want to pause here a minute and thank God also for my Pastor, Bob Sparks, who prayed with me before I went to the hospital and kept in constant contact with me while I was in the ER encouraging me. Next, I want to thank Pastor Solomon and her daughter Mary who prayed for me and drove about 45 min to pick me up from the hospital around 1:30 in the morning. I also want to thank Cynthia and her husband Sidney for visiting me in the ER and everyone else who prayed for me or had a part in my victory – I believe in giving honor where honor is due – now to continue.

After I was discharged, I had no way home and I ask someone to pick me up but she told me they were in the bed; I said to myself, “What? After you have told me I was a part of your family and we have been friends for years!” If the shoe would have been on the other foot I would have picked her or anybody in her family up, it would not have mattered to me how late it was! I am telling you the truth, I was highly upset!! I did not have any way home and she knew this, but she was in bed. So I called my friend Pastor Solomon and was telling her I had no way home and did not have cab money – without missing a beat, she said she would come pick me up – I did not want her to drive all the way to my town to pick me up – plus she probably was in the bed too; by the time I called her, it was around 12:45 am. By the time I signed out, Pastor Solomon and her daughter Mary were pulling up in the ER parking lot – LOOK AT GOD! I did not know the weather condition until we were on the way to my house and saw how foggy it was; Pastor Solomon told me it was really foggy on the dark road she came up on – I thank God for bringing them up the road and taking them home safe!

During my hurtful and anger moment at that other person because she refused to get out her bed to pick me up (hurt brings anger), God brought David and Jonathan to me. Again, being honest, I was so upset God could not give me the revelation He wanted to give me then; He had to wait until the next morning.

When I woke on Monday morning, I saw I had a message from Sunday I needed to respond to and as I was responding to it, God again brought David and Jonathan to me. God let me knew that David and Jonathan had a spiritual connection not a natural one; that is why their relationship was so strong. He let me know not to be upset with that person because we did not have a spiritual connection but a natural connection. Of course at that time, I had to make a decision to forgive her and I did – I did not “feel” like forgiving her – she hurt me – but I know forgiveness is a choice not a feeling. When you decide to forgive someone, you are being obedient to God – if we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us (Matthew 6:15; Mark 11:26). God also let me knew that to have a successful relationship with someone it has to be by the Spirit – you must know that person by the Spirit – your spirits must be in agreement with each other.

It is impossible to have a spiritual relationship with someone who has a carnal mind! A spiritual minded person and a natural minded person’s spirit cannot be connected so they can walk in the Spirit of God!
