PERSONAL STATEMENT
I was raised at Parkview Baptist Church in Littlefield Texas. My mom played piano and set with her every time the church doors were open. I accepted Christ at an early age and felt the call to be in ministry during my High School years. During that time I did not have the role model that I needed to move forward with my calling.
My wife and I had made a commitment to each other to put God in our marriage. We knew from past experience that God had to be in control for our marriage to succeed. In November of 2007 I had open heart surgery to replace the aortic valve with a metal valve. This was just after our house burned in September of that same year and my wife miscarried for the first time. My wife and I knew that God had a plan for our lives and instead of hurting our relationship with God it brought us together stronger than before. September 16, 2010 I was diagnosed with Chronic Myogenic Leukemia. God has blessed me with both a testimony of miracles and the ability to talk to people in a way most Pastors cannot. I can relate to people in all stages for grief and shock. My wife can relate to a wide range of issues, from family members of someone diagnosed with cancer or marriage issues.
I believe that a pastor should be able to minister to the entire family. My wife and I consider ourselves a team that will work together to minister to the youth and parents as needed. People today need someone they can trust to tell them straight answers .Ministry today is not just about teaching bible truths, but living them out in a way that the family know you are genuine. I feel that members need to know that I am not perfect but that I have been there and can help them skip my mistakes. The world of today needs God more than ever but they have to trust the pastor and see that I believe what I preach. Most of all they need to know that I love them unconditionally.
I believe that I have to be a great follower to be a great leader. Being subject to the authority of the church staff and parents is important to me. I feel that respect is given where it is earned. By being respectful to others issues I feel that I can be respected part of your staff and to your church as a whole.
