"Uniting Christian & Jewish Clergy from Around the World"
This came from Robert Schuller this morning. What a true straight to the heart thought. If only we would take the time to have the Courage to Care. Dr. Tom Courage to Care |

"Live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." – Ephesians 5:2 Some years ago, a nameless person went to an orphanage and inquired, "Is there an orphan here that nobody wants?" The matron answered,
"Indeed there is. She's ten years old, is not much to look at, and has a horrible hunchback. In fac" The inquirer said, "That's exactly the child I want." And together they left the orphanage. Thirty-five years later, the director of the Orphanage Inspection Department in the state of Iowa turned in a report about an orphanage in the state that reported, "This home is outstanding. It is clean, the food is good, and the matron of the place has a soul that oozes love. "All of the children are well-cared for and show the effects of the matron's love. As they gathered around the piano following dinner, I observed an atmosphere unlike any I have ever seen in my work. Never have I seen such beautiful eyes as in that matron. They were so stunning that I almost forgot how homely her face was and how unattractive was her hunchback. The matron's name is Mercy Goodfaith." Because one nameless person had the courage to care for a homely orphan, Mercy Goodfaith learned how to love, and she multiplied that love a hundred times over. My prayer for you today is that God will give you the courage to care. Prayer: Open my eyes, Lord Jesus, to the opportunities around me that call for an uncommon courage to care. Fill my heart with your unconditional love. * * * |
