Do Not Be Deceived

"Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life"--Gal 6:7-8. The "Carnal Christian" continually sows to his flesh & has never been saved; he has never been born again. Why? Because under Holy Spirit conviction we're given the grace to repent & in repentance we learn to hate sin, abhor it, to loathe ourselves & to flee by faith to Christ for deliverance from sin. 

We know that sin hasn't been eradicated, for it's still the plague of our hearts; but is no longer the practice/rule of our lives. It can't be, for the soul whom God saves has had a new nature & a new heart put within; & he now desires holy things & walks in the way of righteousness. He knows in himself that this is true, because the Holy Spirit has worked in him the things found in God’s Word. He reads in Ez 36:26 about the new heart that God has given him &  in 2 Peter 1:4 about the new nature he has been given. He finds in 1 Jn 3:9 that he has been born of God &  that he who's born of God doesn't make sin the practice & rule of his life.
