FIVE WARNINGS TO BELEVERS IN THE BOOK OF HEBREWS

Five warnings to believers in the book of Hebrews

                                                                                             

Since the Lord Jesus Christ is to soon come, let us take heed to these warnings and

be ready for his coming. We must be about the Father’s business of winning souls from

the kingdom of darkness to God’s kingdom.

 

First warning: the danger of neglect.  Hebrew 2: 1-4 (also Mt.18: 17; Acts 6: 1)

 

Second warning: the danger of unbelief in Hebrew 3: 7  and  Hebrew 4:13

By hardening the heart Heb. 3: 7 -19

Challenge to enter into His rest.  Heb. 4: 1-13

 

Third warning: the danger of not maturing.  Hebrew 5: 11-14 and  Heb. 6: 9- 20                             

By dullness of hearing.  Heb. 5: 11 -14

Need for maturing   Heb. 6: 1-8

Exhortation to mature   Heb. 6: 9- 20

 

Fourth warning: the danger of drawing back – Heb. 10: 26 – 31

Definitions of faith – Heb. 11: 1- 3

Exhortation to hold fast in faith   Heb. 10: 19 -25 and Heb.11: 4-40

 

Fifth warning: danger of refusing God.  Heb. 12: 25 -29

Exhortation to endure chastening Heb. 12: 5- 25

Just as Christ did - Heb 12: 1- 4
