FOOD FOR THE SPIRIT

GET THE DIRT OUT

My Gramma used to say that whatever comes out of your mouth is in your heart - if dirt comes out, then dirt is in your heart - well, that is very true, folks. If nasty and profane words come out of your mouth, then that is what is in your heart. When others look at us as Christians, and we have dirt and filth coming out of our mouths, and we do things that are profane and vulgar, then they see us as hypocrites and liars. Moreso, that reflects bad on our Lord. We are to be good examples for God, so people will want to turn "to" him, not "from" him. Our mouths can be our own worst enemy. How can you expect God to bless you when you curse yourself with your own mouth? God loves you. He wants to bless you. But, He won't bless you if you continue to curse yourself with your own words and the things that you do.

Clean up your act - get the dirt out of your heart and wash your mouth out daily with the Word of God and pray for Jesus to keep you from all that is evil and all that is not pleasing to Him.

LORD, JESUS, PLEASE HELP ME CLEAN OUT ALL THE THINGS IN MY LIFE THAT DO NOT PLEASE YOU, LORD - MAY THE WORDS THAT COME OUT OF MY MOUTH REFLECT THE LOVE THAT COMES FROM YOU. HELP ME TO BE FAITHFUL TO YOU AND BE A GOOD EXAMPLE OF YOUR LOVE AND MERCY. FORGIVE ME FOR MY SINS AND FILL MY HEART WITH YOUR HOLY SPIRIT. AMEN.
