"Uniting Christian & Jewish Clergy from Around the World"
Day 12 – 2/6/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
I Am Healed
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
“He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.”
I PETER 2:24, NIV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
One of your key birthrights as a Believer is access to call upon God for healing. When Jesus walked the earth, He healed people. Everywhere He went, He healed the sick. Sickness and disease could not stand in the presence of Jesus. They had to give way.
When Jesus went to the cross, He fulfilled a prophecy from Isaiah 53. At the cross, He bore our griefs and He carried our sorrows. He was smitten and afflicted. He was wounded for our transgressions and bruised for our iniquities. Chastisement was laid upon Him that we might have peace. Now by the stripes He received, we are healed.
More happened at the cross than we can comprehend. Death was defeated. Sin was atoned for. The effects of the curse unleashed in the fall of man fell fully upon the Redeemer. And the benefit of healing was released on behalf of Believers. A benefit many of us may not fully appropriate. Healing is available to us today. We must lift our eyes from our circumstances and focus on the finished work of Jesus on the cross.
Today, let your faith rise. Call upon the Lord-not just for healing-but for health. He is the One who bore your sins and paid every price. Lay hold, by faith, of the work completed for you at the cross. In Him you are healed!
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
Healing is the expansion of God’s rule or control over the sickness in our body. Deliverance is the expansion of God’s rule over the enemy’s foothold in our lives.
-Jonathan Bernis
Day 13 – 2/7/19: RENEWING TRUTH:
God is My Shepherd
RENEWING SCRIPTURE:
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me-just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”
JOHN 10:14-16, NIV
RENEWING THOUGHT:
The opening words of Psalms 23, probably the most familiar psalms, are, “The Lord is my shepherd…” The Lord is a “good shepherd.” That means He is not a shepherd who abandons His sheep. He fights every enemy and defeats every foe. The great Protector and Provider, He guides His sheep into nourishing pasture. He makes them lie down beside still waters. He restores their soul.
He is our Shepherd. He knows us and calls us by name. we are not a number to Him. We are not merely an acquaintance, or someone known only in passing. We are His, His very own. He has numbered the hairs on our head and His thoughts toward us are like the grains of sand on the seashores. With Him, we are fully known, wholly loved, and although secure.
As in the parable, when even one loses its way, He leaves the ninety-nine in a secure place and goes out to search and rescue the lost one. And rejoices when He finds it.
How do we know? Because of what He already did. The Good Shepherd laid His life down for His sheep. He demonstrated His love for us in this, that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (See Romans 5:8). Now forever, the Good Shepherd has brought us to God.
You are a member of His flock. You hear His voice and go where He goes. Forevermore, He leads you into His pastures where you shall never want again. He knows His sheep and He is known by His own. Safe with your Shepherd, you are right where you need to be-close with the Good Shepherd who cares for His sheep.
RENEWING INSPIRATION:
Always remember, God the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost are all for you.
