I would like to introduce to you a wonderful ministry that reaches out to those that are in need. The UECA endorses this ministry and we would like to share some about them. I know personally the work that they do and how, without question those that are in need they reach out to help them. Not just in their area but where ever it is needed.

The Apostles Purse

While we all know that the economic downturn of our nation is causing us all to tighten our belts and cut corners, many of our brothers and sisters in Christ are facing the worst financial crises since the days of the depression due to many company shut-downs and closings.
The Apostles Purse is the result of a call the Lord placed on our Pastor and is an effort to rally the Body of Christ to a common cause and effort.
The Apostles Purse, a rescue outreach of monies and other resources is designed to help fill the gap that other public resources can not or will not meet.

"Speak and act like people who will be judged by the law that sets us free.
Do this, because on the day of judgment there will be no pity for those who have not had pity on others. But even in judgment, God is merciful!
My friends, what good is it to say you have faith, when you don't do anything to show that you really do have faith? Can that kind of faith save you?
If you know someone who doesn't have any clothes or food, you shouldn't just say, "I hope all goes well for you. I hope you will be warm and have plenty to eat."
What good is it to say this, unless you do something to help?
Faith that doesn't lead us to do good deeds is all alone and dead!
James 2:12-17 (CEV)

Far too many hard working Christian families are unable to qualify for assistance from government agencies, the very agencies their taxes have supported for years, because they "earned too much in the past" or that they own a home. These are our brothers and sisters in Christ who have worked hard to do their part for society by being upstanding and responsible citizens that are now being told by our own government that they must lose everything in order to qualify for anything.

God has called us stand together to buoy our brothers and sisters in Christ, following the example we find in Acts 2:44-45.

" All the Lord's followers often met together, and they shared everything they had.
They would sell their property and possessions and give the money to whoever needed it." (CEV)

In doing this, we will be an example of God's great goodness and love to all around us and many more souls will come to experience salvation through Christ as described in Acts 2:46-47.

"Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely,while praising God. Everyone liked them, and each day the Lord added to their group others who were being saved." (CEV)

Membership to The Apostles Purse is open to Christian Churches, Christian Schools, Christian Businesses and Christian Families who wish to make a positive difference in the lives of their neighbors.
