And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach (Mk 3:13-14)

In the Old Testament, Moses when up the mountain alone and returned to find the people in gross idolatry but Christ set the standard for the New Testament era; He went up the mountain and called His disciples to join Him there. This is completely different from the style of most mainstream ministries today, where leaders operate as lone supper stars among a crowd of dependent individuals who are unwilling to grow out of danger but perpetually depend on petty, petty prayers and utterances for survival?

As New Testament ministers, we are supposed to lead those under our leadership up the mountain; we are to bring them into a place of character, vision, strength and a greater walk with the Lord. This is what true ministry or church growth is all about. Just having a crowd of people like in a market without leading and bringing them to a place of purpose, vision, strength and a greater walk with the Lord is nothing but misguided priority.

We thank God for crowd; there is nothing wrong with having a crowd if and only if we keep our priority straight. Multitudes followed Christ and he taught them many things about the kingdom but He gave more attention to train and develop disciples. It’s time for the body of Christ to have a greater focus on transforming the multitudes under our different denominational roofs from high maintenance low impact converts into radical soldiers of Christ. This is the calling of true apostolic ministries; if we call ourselves apostles, let’s show proof in the quality of people we have raised. To Paul the Apostle, those he raised were the seal of his apostleship. How many men and women of valor have you raised from all your ministerial efforts? PONDER!

Listen! Ministry is not a kind of Hollywood showmanship nor is it mere stardom; ministry is not measured in the fleet of one’s cars, dressing attire and material possession but in the quality of people raised within a given period, from ordinary converts to mature disciples who can take over territories for Christ. This is only possible when we take those under us up the mountain; it might not be all that pleasant but that is our calling as New Testament Ministers.

The man God uses must possess the heart to lead his or her generation up the mount of holiness, vision, purpose and a greater walk with the Lord. God is raising such ministries today all over the world; to be part of this movement of God’s people, you would have to be cured from the church growth mentality we inherited from the last two decades of the 20th century, where the glamour was for the crowd one can have under him and not the disciples one has raised. Let’s wake up; it’s time to lay hold on the New Testament revelation. It’s no more the Moses era of one lone super star up the mountain but that of men or women of God leading their generation up the mountain. Hope you are blessed by this message; watch out for part four.

A CALL FOR PARTNERS!!!

For over two decades, I have ministered without covenant partners but with the increase need to spread the word globally, the Lord is leading me to call for partners. Men and women who believe in the vision the Lord has given me and are willing to commit themselves on a monthly bases to sow as led by the spirit into the outreach of my ministry. If the Lord is leading you to become one of my covenant partners, drop a note and more information would be given to you. Be blessed.
