Thy Word is Truth
"Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth"--John 17:17. Whatever God has uttered, since it has come from His mouth, is true & trustworthy. "The words of the LORD are pure words," declares the Psalmist, "as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times"--Psalm 12:6. What has been spoken of by God, Who cannot lie, must be pure and true altogether. Every word which proceeds from the mouth of our Heavenly Father must in the very nature of the case, be absolutely free from error. If this is not so, God Himself is not trustworthy. If, therefore, the Scriptures are the Word of God, breathed out by Him, it follows that they, too, are absolutely true and infallible. 2 Timothy teaches that the Scriptures are the Word of God. The testimony of the Bible to itself, is abundant &compelling.
