This was the first statement God made about Jesus when He was presented to Israel at His baptism at the Jordan River. For God to make such open declaration about Jesus, shows that He was satisfy with him. Little or nothing is mention about his childhood except in Luke 2:41-52.
As He was growing he probably use to go to his father carpentry workshop to help and later took over. While working he must have been abused, insulted, yet he pleased God…….. “He was tempted in every way just as we are—yet was without sin”…Hebrews 4:15.
We are tempted at home, place of work. In the ministry etc. Is God pleased with us? God was pleased with Jesus even in temptation……”When they hurled their insult at him he did retaliate”…….1st Peter 2:23. Is God pleased with your life and what you are doing? God again made this same statement about Jesus, toward the end of his ministry on earth. Matthew 17:5. This meant that he pleased God in his ministry. How?
1. He did what God sent to do and finish it. John 4:34
2. He did what saw God doing. John 5:19&20. (He never compromise. What God dose is contrary to what man dose, to please God, he did not compromise with man.)
3. He was honest and truthful to people. John 6:26&27, 8:42-47.
4. He did not teach or preach His own doctrine. John 7:14—19.
5. He was always constant fellowship with the father. Mark 1:35, Matthew 14:23.
6. He accepted all kinds of people. Matthew 9:10-13, 19:13&14.
7. He forgave and prayed for His enemies. Luke 23:34.
8. He laid down His life for His friends. John 15:13.
9. He came as a servant, and he served Philippians 2:7, Matthew 20:25, Luke 22:27.
10. He was humble. Philippians 2:8.
Is God pleased with your ministry and your work with Him? I pray that we may please God in life and in ministry.
