The Bible Teaches

The Bible teaches that there are only two classes of people in the world : the living and the dead . You might think is an obvious statement , but according to God’s Word , not all of the living are alive and not all of the dead are really dead .Let me explain . Those living lives without Christ are spiritually dead . Jesus said , ‘’ ‘ He who has the Son has life : he who does not have the Son of God does not have life ‘’ ( John 5:12 ) . On another occasion , He said , ‘’ Let the dead bury… Continue

Sword And Serpent

Since Satan uses even the Bible in his attempts to trap us , obviously , our only protection lies in knowing God’s Word , in storing His truths deep within our minds . David said , ‘’ Thy word have I hid in mine heart , that I might not sin against thee ‘’ ( Psalm 119:11 , KJV ) . The New Testament says , ‘’ The word of God is living and powerful , and sharper than any two-edged sword ‘’ ( Hebrews 4:12 ) . Jesus used this sword to fight off the devil when He was tempted in the desert , and…

Lack Of Knowledge And Understanding

Ignorance of God’s Word is a huge barrier to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ . The battle for the mind is a struggle between thinking and acting God’s way--by faith--as opposed to thinking and operating by man’s limited ability to reason . In  ( Proverbs 3:5-6 )  . We see the importance of studying the Word of God . Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding ; in all your ways acknowledge him , and he will make your paths straight .  ( Hosea 4”6a )…

Obey

One of the most important things a church must do is teach believers to obey everything Jesus commanded , to live and honor God’s name as He did ( Matt. 28:20 ) . By teaching obedience , the church naturally teaches the accountability principle . Although believers are accountable to God , God uses the church , spouse , other family members , friends , and fellow believers to keep one another aware of accountability to Him . In essence God has created natural accountability groups to help…

The Armour Of God

’ Finally my brethren , be strong in the Lord  , and in the power of his might . Put on the whole armour of God , that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil . For we wrestle not against flesh and blood , but against principalities , against powers , against the rulers of the darkness of this world , against spiritual wickedness in high places . Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God , that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day , and having done all , to stand…

Who Will Cleanse Us Of Our Guilt And Shame ?

Jesus will cleanse us from our guilt and shame and cover us with His righteousness . ‘’ We are all like an unclean thing , and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags ‘’ ( Isaiah 64:6 ) . Only when Jesus gives us His righteousness are we truly in our right mind . Like blind Bartimaeus , we must rise , throw aside our ragged robes , and come to Jesus ( Mark 10:50 ) . An Old Testament prophet uses this very image to picture how God covers our sins: ‘’ He…spoke to those who stood before Him…

The First Temptation

The account of the first temptation on this planet does focus on the serpent and Eve. Correspondingly , we find the first prophecy pictures an ongoing battle the woman--who ultimately represents God’s church--and the serpent ( Genesis 3:14 ,15 ) . This prophecy promises the ultimate victory of the woman’s seed , the coming Savior , who would kill the serpent . In verse 15 , God speaking to the serpent , says , ‘’I will put enmity between you and the women , and between your seed and her Seed…

Will Everyone Enter The Kingdom Of Heaven ?

In Matthew

The Life Of The Transformed Believer

The life of the Transformed believer models love , trust , and obedience . Transformation  of a believer’s character will be evidenced by responding to the demands and events of life in the same character and manner as Jesus . ‘

’Whoever has my commands and obeys them , he is the one who loves me . He who loves me will be loved by my Father , and I too will love him and show myself to him ‘’ ( John 14:21 ) . AT the core of…
