UGCS-Notes from Dr. Dorothy Wisor President of UGCS

August 25, 2010

After earning my Masters in Psychology, I took a deep breath and started to work on my Doctorate in psychology.

It was very hard to work, raise a family and go to college. Many times, I was overwhelmed.

I did, however, persevere and had a perfect GPA. When my Ph.D. was within my sights, God placed a calling on my heart to counsel the hurting though His Word.

So, I decided to leave the secular college and the scholarship behind and work for my degree in Biblical Counseling and Pastoral Ministry.

It was the best decision I could have made!

As I studied my text books and the Bible, truths jumped out at me.

Scriptures I had learned as a child and studied all of my life, became even more enlightening to me.

There is an answer to every problem that we face in this world in His Word!

The Bible is our owner's manual. It comforts us when we are hurting, heals us when we are sick in spirit, gives us time to reflect on our lives and how we live, and above all, shows us the light of redemption and Salvation!

Becoming a Biblical or Christian counselor, has been the most rewarding assignment God has ever given me.

My Christian education had not only equipped me to live a live in His Word, but has enabled me to help others to find peace and mercy through Him.

As a mother, wife, teacher, professor, author, and now president of United Graduate College and Seminary, I have tried to always find the answers in the manual He gave us.

This is what a quality Christian education at UGCS means for you:

* A biblical worldview rather than a secular or humanistic one.

* The pursuit of quality academics—especially at a Christian college willing to verify that quality, as well as the quality of its faculty.

* Educators committed to their calling from God, and the spiritual growth of their students, as well as academic excellence.

* The opportunity to network with Christian friends in different aspects of ministry.

We are adding to the already impressive curriculum and degrees available at UGCS. As our world has become even more corrupt, there are so many more hurting souls that are in great need of peace.

It is our goal at UGCS to continue to educate great counselors and ministers.

Everyone who earns a degree or certificate from United Graduate College and Seminary, has worked hard and is ready to help the healing process to begin.

I have two children still at home, ages fourteen and nine.

It is my heart's desire for them to enroll in UGCS when the time comes for them to continue their education.

I know they will be equipped to serve as God intended when He gave us the Great Commission.
