I am honestly tired of the politics and the "Me and mine" mentality rampant in the church today. Why can't we work together as Christ prayed for us to do? One mind, one body, one spirit. Why can't we get along and get together and work for the ONE COMMON GOAL. We have enough hell coming against us from the enemy, why does the body of Christ have to create it's own within the Body? Where's the love of God at work in this? A house divided against itself WILL FALL. One Christ. One Body. One…

A biblical definition of hope is an earnest expectation, a knowing. We as ministers even find ourselves loosing that hope in our flock that God brings our way. “Oh that case is so hard, can’t break through that shell. It’s too tough. I’ll never make it.” When you loose hope then your flock will loose hope. That client that has come to you will loose hope. That friend in trouble that you share with will loose hope. We need to have in ourselves that earnest expectation of what the scripture say…

In 1832, he was a 22-year old business failure.
That same year he ran for the State Legislature and was defeated.
In 1833, he was a business failure once again.
In 1836, he suffered a nervous breakdown.
In 1838, he lost in an effort to become Speaker of the House in the State
Legislature.
Five years later, he ran for US Congress - again it was in vain.
In 1846, he ran for Congress and won - only to lose his re-election bid…

Exodus 32:1-6 (KJV)
1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. 2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me. 3 And all…

After earning my Masters in Psychology, I took a deep breath and started to work on my Doctorate in psychology.
It was very hard to work, raise a family and go to college. Many times, I was overwhelmed.
I did, however, persevere and had a perfect GPA. When my Ph.D. was within my sights, God placed a calling on my heart to counsel the hurting though His Word.
So, I decided to leave the secular college and the…

It has been a while since I put out an update on the goings on in the UECA. I have to admit that I am truly excited about what God is giving us to do for Him. So HERE GOES.
We now have a prison ministry reaching out to inmates in several different institutions. Currently there are 35 students learning basic bible understanding. What a joy it is to have Dr. Tony Smith reaching out to these men and women with an understanding of God's word. We are working with a bible college and…

What I truly think and am humbled by is how God will move in a persons life when they will yield to Him. In 2006 I thought it was all done. I had a stroke and they didn't think that I would be able to do anything more. Just before Christmas I was at work as a supervisor for a Cable Contractor company in Atlanta Georgia and had my first stroke at work. I was off for about a month and then tried to go back. I couldn't work in the field anymore so they tried to put me in the office. Because I was…

Have you been religiousized today? I'm sorry. That's a "sickness" that I know a great doctor that can heal that sickness today. His name is Jesus. He can heal every sickness and disease. Sometimes we get so critical or religious if you will that we forget what the true meaning of the Gospel is. Love, compassion mercy and grace. If we can not forgive how can our Heavenly Father forgive us? think about it.

It is sometimes funny, not ha ha funny but to us a little different than what we think, how God works. You think one thing in your mind but then God works something completely the opposite and then you sit back and think "Wow, how did He do that?". Our God is amazing. How wonderful are His ways when we just step back and let Him work. PTL

The last few months or even longer than that have been one of the strangest times in my life. Too strange and too long to put into words. It is wonderful to sit and watch God move. We have gone from not knowing what to do or where to do it at to in the process of buying a home. Wow. Ain't God good? Granted it's not the Holiday Inn but the fact that it will be ours, no more rent. And we can fix it up and paint it the way we want it. Oh I love you Lord you are so good. And have my computer back.…

Simple, But Not Simplistic
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

I have wondered if there really is L.A.K. You might ask what L.A.K. is and rightfully so. L.A.K is Life After Kids. Please, please I beg you don't misunderstand what I am saying. I love these three (yes now there are three grand children living in our home) children that live with us. It is a joy and an honor to love these kids and provide the love and encouragement that children so desperately need. I grew up in a family quiet honestly where my parents were very strict. I can only remember…

What is an Certified Recovery Minister? Throughout life there are many pitfalls and ways to get off track with our lives. Using the Bible to help people deal with recovery (whatever our addictions) and significant life changing experiences. We see that recovery from addictions are significant life changing experiences, so we perceive the issues to be the same. Whether they are dealing with birth, mental illness, health challenges, marriage, divorce, death, or other issues that require them to…

I go in Tuesday for a sonagram (sp) on my heart. I have a monitor on now that I am to wear for 24 hours. They are going to be doing a bunch of tests including something they called a bubble exam. They put a bubble of air in me and somehow it will show if there is a hole in my heart causing the blood clots that have been going to my brain. I know what it's going to show. Nothing wrong with my heart. It belongs to Jesus. PTL God bless.

8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

35 While He is yet speaking, men come from the house to the Warden, and say, "Your daughter is dead: why trouble the Rabbi further?" 36 But Jesus, overhearing the words, said to the Warden, "Do not be afraid; only have faith." 37 And He allowed no one to accompany Him except Peter and the brothers James and John. 38 So they come to the Warden's house. Here He gazes on a scene of uproar, with people weeping aloud and wailing. 39 He goes in. "Why all this outcry and loud weeping?" He asks; "the…

I received a frantic phone call one day from a minister friend. He was all worried and down. I asked him what was the problem. He said, and I quote, "I am about to loose my job. The numbers in the church are down and they may fire me." Well, needless to say that struck me in a VERY WRONG WAY. My words to him shocked him and I thought he had hung up the phone. "Well then maybe you should just leave that church and find one that is not out for numbers and is out for souls and them being touched.…

To me what's very sad is when there is not unity. Unity in the home, unity at the work place, unity in the Body of Christ. Where there is division satan can come in and do his evil work. Example, "They are a member of my ministry or church. You stay away from them." Last I checked the church is not our own. It belongs to Christ. A ministry is not our own. It should belong to Christ. We should be out to build the body, bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and help them to grow in…
