"I have been asked about several political issues facing the country. As many of you know, I have been very political over the years. Politics has been my sport of choice since I was a young man and I have always engaged debate on national and international issues. The reason I no longer comment on political issues, and the reason I no longer offer opinions on such matters are two-fold. First, my opinions on politics change nothing. They are just an excuse to blow my trumpet and stand in pride on this or that issue. They simply do not matter. Secondly, I refrain from political issues because I serve a Master that transcends the political. He is not bound to political party or national borders. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news to both the right and the left, but God doesn't endorse either political party. To attach God to Republican or Democrat is trying to make God in our image, rather than acknowledging we are made in His image. Jesus Christ is my hero. The teachings of Jesus Christ are the plank of my platform. Love, compassion and turning the world upside down through the revolutionary practice of the Gospel. This is all I aspire to follow. This is all I aspire to be. So, if you want real change. Real change you can believe in...JESUS CHRIST IS THE REAL HOPE FOR REAL CHANGE. Our political leaders can promise you everything under the sun. THE SON has already delivered. So that is where my alliances rest."
