Let the children alone

But Jesus said, "Let the children alone, & do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."--Mt 19:14. Since the kingdom of heaven belong to such as these, this is one reason that we need to get the Gospel message into the hearts of these children. The reason for trying to get the Gospel message into the hearts of children is so that when they reach the age of accountability, they will make a decision for Christ. Too often, the world system has such a negative profound affect on them. Popularity is prevalent….drugs, alcohol & improper relationships rear their ugly heads and our children are at the crossroads on what to do, what to read, what to believe and who to follow. Children of today are into electronics such as cell phones, i-pods, i-pads, and live their lives on social media networks such as Twitter, MySpace and Facebook. They, like us, should be: “looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”--Hebrews 12:2. Are we adults, “looking unto Jesus” as “the Author and Finisher of our faith?” Are we guiding those whom Christ entrusted us with the stewardship and responsibility over, to be “looking unto Jesus” or have we overwhelmingly shown them our depravity and unrepentant sinfulness? If we are striving to teach them how to be Christ-like, we must be habituated in Christlikeness.
