Obedience to God's Will

Sometimes obedience to God's will leads to opposition and misunderstanding . Because of his obedience , Paul suffered much for the cause of Christ . The list of beatings ,  imprisonments , and danger sound like more then one person could bear . He concluded one letter by saying , '' I bear on my body the marks of Jesus '' ( Gal . 6: 17 ) . Paul had these experiences before he began to do the will of his Lord . Obedience was costly to him . Even so, Paul still could say : I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in sufferings , becoming like him in his death , and so , somehow , to attain to the resurrection from the dead . Not that I have already obtained all this , or have already been made perfect , but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me ( Phil 3: 10 - 12 }
