Being evangelists, my wife Karen and I have discovered how hard it is to get a pastor to allow us to come run a revival. I read once from a retired evangelists how ministers fear the evangelists are after their congregation. Not so! When someone is called into the evangelistic field their job is to stir up the congregation and urge spiritual movement in them. Sometimes congregations get too comfortable with the minister they hear regularly and tend to slack off on their worship. When an evangelist comes in it isn't to confuse the congregation but take the churchs own beliefs and build on them. Ministers need to be encouraged and urged to have a revival to recharge dead batteries of the congregation. Many years ago I can remember revivals that ran for weeks, now it is hard to find one that runs even for 3 days. We need to bring back the old "brush arbor" meetings, tent revivals, week long revivals and the old meeting times of Mid week, Sunday school, Sunday morning worship and Sunday night worship.

I have also noticed many of the churchs now don't even have Sunday night service and use mid week as Bible Study. Don't get me wrong, Bible Study is good but I feel there should be a special night set aside for it and use the mid week (Wednesday or Thursday) service to fill up the congregations spiritual "gas" tank.

About AOCI

The AOCI exists as a fellowship of Spirit-filled Evangelical and Jewish Clergy for the purpose of: 1) Exalting God 2) Fellowshiping and 3) Divine Networking.

We do NOT advise, nor do we seek, to bring members out of their current denomination or ministerial association. We seek to have a platform to UNITE the Clergy of the world in ways that can benefit not only the Kingdom of God, but also the men and women who faithfully serve their communities, one another, and God.
