"Uniting Christian & Jewish Clergy from Around the World"
And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach (Mk 3:13-14)
Few individuals in every generation are called to follow the Lord up the mountain. Why the mountain top? The mountain top is a reserved environment; few individuals can make it there; it is not a place for the crowd but for individuals who mean serious business. Secondly, the mountain top is a place of vision; it is possible to see further from a mountain top. Thirdly, the mountain top is a place for those who can withstand the pressure of the wind and still maintain focus on what got them there.
There are serious kingdom matters Christ won’t discuss with those who seek him just for bread, healing and deliverance, etc. It’s unfortunate that, most of our churches and ministries today are filled up with such crowd of people. The come for the bread and fish and not for the vision of Christ. When bread and fish is over, they will immediately pack out to another church/ministry to look for their usual bread and fish. Christ can’t do business with such a crowd of people; they can’t exercise composure to follow Christ up the mountain without creating a nuisance. So, He sends them away while He takes along with him those who mean business and are out for real business with him.
The man God uses must separate himself from the crowd to follow the master up the mountain top. To lead the crowd you must leave the crowd. The ordinary Christianity many practice today is rottenness to the bones. I wonder how long God would refrain from spewing this Laodicean religion out of his mouth. Christ is still calling even today for those who will pay the price to follow Him up the mountain; would you answer the call?
