There can be no election without reprobation. “What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, & the rest were blinded” (Rom. 11:7). “And a stone of stumbling, & a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people. . .” (I Pet. 2:8-9). God doesn't show His grace to the reprobate. Of the Anakims it's written: “For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favor (Hebrew techinnah translated “grace” in Ezra 9:8 in KJV), but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses” (Josh. 11:20).
