To destroy the Law?

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”

The law is a covenant between mankind and God, man being rewarded by following it and condemned by ignoring it. “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.” Jesus could not disannul(To annul; to make void; to deprive of authority or force; to nullify; to abolish; as, to disannul a law or an ordinance.) the law, for Christ fulfilled the law within himself, where judgment was replaced by mercy.

The law of judgment.(Before Christ.) “He that despised Moses’ law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:” The law of mercy.(After Christ.) “For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” God declared all men unrighteous so He could show mercy unto all.

If you look at the law, you can clearly see everything that God has declared to be an abomination, are things that would destroy man, cause disease, kill the body and soul, but men will condemn others for having sexual relations with an animal, saying that it is unnatural and filthy (which is under the law.), but with other things contained within the law man decides what is and is not acceptable.

Mankind seeks to abolish the law, seeks to make good, evil and evil, good, man seeks to change the conditions of the covenant between himself and God, making unrighteousness acceptable.

“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.” Its true under the law before Christ and mercy, homosexuals were condemned to death, just as those that had sexual relations with animals. “And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.” “And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

This for two reasons, 1. To prevent the spread of disease (today we call it AIDS) and 2. To stop the propagation of these practices.

“their blood shall be upon them.” God is stating that, the death of these people is their own doing, their punishment is justified just as the wages of sin are self-avenging. In the New Testament. “receiving in themselves that recompence of their error(punishment) which was meet.(justified and self-inflicted.)” Romans 1:27 — alluding to the many physical and moral ways in which, under the righteous government of God, vice was made self-avenging. In today’s world many believe that since Jesus never mentioned homosexuality by name as an unclean thing to participate in, that He was acceptable to it, but what they fail to relies is that He did mention it in His remarks of the law. Luk_16:17 “And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle (it refers to the minutiae of the Law.) of the law to fail.” What then is the law? The law is a set of rules that God set down to regulate human behavior. Christ never abolished the law against homosexuality but only changed punishment(judgment) to mercy.(forgiveness.) In other words, under the law homosexuality brought about a death sentence, but under Christ they can be forgiven if they stop this practice.

We must also remember those that choose to ignore His warning will still pay the price of death at their time of judgment, this is called the second death as written here; “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable(a form of the word abomination which means; The object of detestation.), and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

Just as men today believe that homosexuality is natural, they look at the pleasing of the flesh instead of the pleasing of the spirit. The Bible can only be understood by the spirit and not by the mind, for only those that have accepted Christ can have His spirit within them. Satan uses pride to keep these people under subjection. Pride in what they believe to be a natural, un-reversible condition, homosexuality is a chosen way of life, for God could not create a thing that He declares to be an abomination, for it is against His very nature. Who then created homosexual actions? Man in his lust of the flesh and with the lies of Satan.

For the law was created because of man’s transgressions and sins. The law was a way of mankind to return to the grace and mercy of God, but just as no man was forced to follow the law, after Christ gave us this New Testament, no man today is forced to believe. Remember that the law was not written for the gentile race of people but for the house of Israel, but all men were expected to live a lifestyle that was acceptable to God, we see this in Rom 2:12-16;

“For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.”
