TODAY'S MESSAGE!! UNDERSTANDING COVENANT

"Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by."Zechariah 3:7

God is God of covenant; each aspect of his promises is to be pursued in cognizant of the covenant attached to it. It is mere religious ignorance, senseless and baseless pursuit of God to desire his blessings without walking in the covenant of his word upon which his promises are designed to be fulfilled. There is a covenant for every desired promise in scripture.

What is a covenant?
It is the divine principle, contract or agreement upon which the delivery and manifestation of God's promises in any given area rests on. It's important to note that, every covenant has two parts; man's and God's part of the deal. For the desired results to be manifested as stated, each party to the covenant simple needs to carry out his part, and when that is done, nothing in the universe can stop the manifestation of the stated result.

There is a covenant of life and peace; this covenant was given to Levi. Read the scripture below to understand the bases on which God gave Levi the covenant of Life and peace.

And ye shall know that I have sent this commandment unto you, that my covenant might be with Levi, saith the LORD of hosts. My covenant was with him of life and peace; and I gave them to him for the fear wherewith he feared me, and was afraid before my name. The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity. Mal 2:4-6

Those who truly walked with God in every era, were not just moving around seeking preachers and self proclaimed prophets to speak blessings over their lives; they sought the Lord to know his covenant. Why? The reason is simple; God can never break his covenant. If he has said; "seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you," that's exactly what he meant. If we do our part of seeking first his kingdom and his righteousness, then we don't need another forty days fast for the addition he promised to be fulfilled. God is faithful; He can be trusted.

My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Psalm 89:34

Ministers of God were supposed to teach the saints the covenants of God instead of making baseless pronouncement of life, health and prosperity Sunday after Sunday over the believers, which are resting completely on no actual knowledge of God's covenant. Such baseless pronouncements have now tantamount into a gospel propaganda, which has left many in frustrations. I know some will say that, God confirms the words of his servant; that's sure as long as his servants do not exalt their authority above that of the word of God.

A true servant of God can't anoint people on the premise that all things shall be added to them when they are not seeking first the kingdom of God as the word says. Such ministration is out of order and it's exactly what Lucifer attempted doing. Servants of God are supposed to serve the people of God by teaching them the covenants of God and not to claim the authority to say things without any base in the word. I know some will say that, at least they are manifestations in some cases. Moses stroked the rock instead of speaking to the rock as God commanded; water still came out, but God was not pleased with him. The real problem today within the church is the "Hollywood celebrity status" many ministers of the gospel are seeking. If you watch some so-called miracle and prophetic meetings, it more of an entertainment theater; less of God is seen, but more of men is seen. May God help us all!

In our foundation text, the Lord told Joshua the priest emphatically: “If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge," this was Joshua's part of the covenant. The result follows: 'Then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts," Finally the promise comes along: "And I will give thee places to walk among these that stand by."

God is God of order; he honors his word above his name. He wants us to know his covenant and to operate from that dimension. It's time for maturity; let's stop this prophetic madness! DrBenard Etta
