If I were to ask you why you go to Church and why you are a Christian, could you answer me within a few seconds? What is it that leads you and inspires you, and pursues you to grow in Christianity? Is there a hunger that burns within you? Do you find peace and fulfillment within the church? Can you give an answer to why you are there? Next, ask yourself this question; what is my purpose in all this, and have I reached all that God has for me? I feel each of us in the body of Christ has a call in life, do you?
Many in our local churches though they attend church faithfully and say they love the Lord, they are not moving into their full potential for God while others don’t seem to be moving much at all. Meaning they lack the understanding and direction to why they are even there. The Church is a filling station for spiritual strength and knowledge. It is a place for fellowship and encouragement. It is a place to teach and train those working for the Lord. But how many in our local bodies, sit in our churches every week yet still are blind to their call? Is it that they don’t understand or realize what God wants of them? Could it be they don’t believe that God truly does want to use them? Perhaps life itself has hurt or hindered the very core of such call within them, and they need a revelation of their own destiny in order to heal?
I ask these questions and pose these thoughts for this reason. I have watched many that I know were called of God, yet after years of church attendance and learning they were still yet a child spiritually, sitting in the pews for years like baby birds seeking nourishment. Always consuming and never giving back. Others find glory in themselves for being things such as the top tithe payer or a great financial supporter, but never truly finding the real loving God and missing the very essence of salvation itself. How many of those that call themselves Christians can give a real account to why they are one, and can truly say they know why they do what they do? In 1 Peter 3:15 we read - But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.
The Church body or the Body of Christ is much like that of an army. We stand Defending truth against the massive winds of false teaching and lies. We are the physical hands that lay healing and restoration upon his children. We are the sheep that begat more sheep and we have a purpose in this life. If you are a Christian, then God has called you. He saved you and me so we would help save others. We were led to the Lord and thus we are now to lead others to him. Don’t think only the preacher has the ministry friend, you are part of the plan. Each one of us has a call, but we must make the decision to follow in it. Our free will if not in tune with God’s, can and will cause our failure in our Christian walk. It is not in arrogance we walk but more of a confidence in his power that will work thru us if we would just allow. If you are a Christian, step out today and begin your ministry.
