PROPHECIES IN THE OLD TESTAMENT PREDICT THE YEAR THE MESSIAH WOULD BE ALIVE DURING HIS 1st COMING!

THE OLD TESTAMENT PREDICTS EXACTLY WHEN MESSIAH WOULD COME!

DANIEL 9:25-26 PROPHESIES THAT THE MESSIAH WOULD COME BEFORE THE DESTRUCTION OF THE TEMPLE IN AD 70

The command to rebuild the temple was given in 445 BC and King Artaxerxes carried it out in the 20th year of his reign (recorded for us in Nehemiah 2:1-8).  From the time this commandment was given to restore and rebuild Jerusalem unto "the anointed the Prince" was supposed to cover a particular period.  

We know that the word "anointed" means Messiah.  So from the 'handing down of this commandment", the time of the Messiah would mean seven weeks and three score and two weeks which again was given in 445 BC.  From that time until the Messiah's arrival would be seven weeks and three score and two weeks or 69 weeks (which equals to 483 years minus a 5 day difference because Daniel used a biblical calendar, which has a 5-day difference than our modern calendar). Therefore, Messiah had to come before the temple was destroyed.  

WHAT DOES THE WORD WEEKS MEAN?

The Hebrew word weeks means seven in scripture.  It also is translated to mean that each week "COVERS A PERIOD OF 7 YEARS".  This is similar to the scriptures in Genesis that says that Jacob worked for his uncle, Laban, for "one week" to obtain his wife Rachel.  The context and the Hebrew world used refer to "7 years" rather than 7 days. 

What Daniel was saying was that from the time the commandment was given until the Messiah appeared in Israel would be 69 seven-year periods, or a total of 483 years. 

If you move forward in time, 483 years from the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Messiah's arrival would bring us to 38 AD.  Therefore, if you take 483 years and subtract it from 445 from it to the year 1 BC leaves 38 years.  Since there was no year zero you would add a year to it, which would then put you in 38 AD.

Remember that Since Daniel used a biblical calendar (which we know was about 5 days a year less than the modern calendar), when you take the 5 day difference and multiply it by 483 years, it shows that Daniel had 6.6 fewer years than by today’s calendar.  Therefore, when the date is adjusted it actually brings us to 32 AD! When according to Daniel 9:25-26 "the anointed Prince would be cut off.  Let us ask a question here:  "DO YOU KNOW OF ANYONE WHO DIED FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD ABOUT 32 AD?"

Any other doubt can be done away with in verse 26 "And the Prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the Sanctuary" so that the true Messiah HAD TO COME AND DIE BEFORE THE TEMPLE WAS DESTROYED!   Glory to God!  Halleluiah!  Jesus is the true Son of the Living God and it was foretold by Daniels vision.
