The Law of Sin and Death
To die from anything is to cease to have any relations to it so that it has no claim or control over you.
The law condemns me to death but Christ became a substitute and died for me. The sentence of death was executed on me in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. I died with Christ. Once the law executed the death penalty it has no more jurisdiction over the one who was executed, for the law has dominion over a man only as long as he lives (Romans 7:1) Having died with Christ, I live through him. I am dead to the law - so is every true believer.
"I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me" Gal.2:20.
