ASK and it shall be given unto you SEEK, and ye shall find: KNOCK and it shall be opened unto you. Matthew 7:7.

This verse of scripture, seem so simple on the surface, yet so powerful in its meaning and application. and one must not fail to recognize the essence of the message. It instructs believers to ASK, SEEK and KNOCK because these three words cover the whole spectrum of prayer.

Prayer is ASKING and RECEIVING:
When you know the will of God regarding to a need, whether it be material or spiritual, you can ASK and receive it. This is a prayer according to the REVEALED will of God. “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us. And if we know that he hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petition that we have asked of Him” 1 Jn. 5:14-16 (kjv)

Prayer is SEEKING and FINDING:
When you do not know the will of God regarding a need, matter or situation, whether it be material or spiritual, then you are to SEEK His knowledge for the UN-REVEALED will of God concerning that specific need, matter or situation. “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all of your heart” Jer.29:12-13 (kjv).

Prayer is KNOCKING and OPENING:
When you know the will of God and yet you find a closed door, you are to KNOCK on it until God opens it. This is a TENACIOUS prayer and requires mountain-moving faith. Knocking prayer perseveres until the impossible becomes possible. This is miracle-working prayer (see also Matthew 17:14-21). All things are possible when you ASK, SEEK and KNOCK
