Discover Self-Sabotaging Habits and Break Them! Part 1

WHAT IS A HABIT?

Did you know that customs, traditions, and honoring societal events can often lead to developing ungodly habits? There are good habits and bad habits. For instance in Luke 4:14-16; (14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.15 And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. 16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read); we definitely would say that the custom of Jesus to enter the synagogue on the Sabbath day, to read the Word of God was a good custom or habit.

The question is what is a habit? Most dictionaries define a habit as "an acquired behavior pattern regularly followed until it has become almost involuntary". Many of us have habits that we continue to follow on a regular basis and do not realize it is a habit. Habits are regular tendencies or practices. They are something that we are familiar with. We often do not know we are doing it. An unforeseen rhythm is present with habits. We keep doing it even though we know it is bad for us, we try to stop it, and find it difficult to stop. Habits can determine how we react or respond to things on a regular basis.

About AOCI

The AOCI exists as a fellowship of Spirit-filled Evangelical and Jewish Clergy for the purpose of: 1) Exalting God 2) Fellowshiping and 3) Divine Networking.

We do NOT advise, nor do we seek, to bring members out of their current denomination or ministerial association. We seek to have a platform to UNITE the Clergy of the world in ways that can benefit not only the Kingdom of God, but also the men and women who faithfully serve their communities, one another, and God.
