"Uniting Christian & Jewish Clergy from Around the World"
The Three Friends and the three loves.
LOVE, Blessings,
and Greetings to you in the "Only name" worthy of All praises, glory
and honor!
The "Rabooni" I love the most, came with this word to me one night and I want to share this with you for the month of August-2010. The scripture comes from:
LUKE: 11.5-13
I tell the passage in my own words here to save you from a long reading.
I tell the passage in my own words here to save you from a long reading.
Mr.A lives in a particular town and was
asleep with his kids. Mr. B,
also lives in the same town and he too was asleep with his family. Mr. C, was a a journey that took him to the
town of Mr.B
and by the time he reached the town it was mid night and he was hungry.
Mr.C was a friend of Mr.B, and so Mr.C decides to go and stay with Mr.
B, in the hope of getting food and Rest, un mindful of the time he visits with
out notice and the trouble he will be causing.
And it did cause trouble to Mr.B. He did not have any food to lay before his
friend. May be with out his knowledge, hoping to get help, resources and food,
he rushes to the doors of Mr.A and said, "Friend, lend me three loaves;
for a friend of mine in his journey come to me, and I have nothing to set
before him?" Lu.11:...5-6.
" ...trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in
bed; I can not raise and give thee." was the answer from Mr.A. How ever
Mr.B would not leave the doors but kept on asking. And finally Mr.A got out of
the 3 loaves, not because Mr.B was his friend, but because Mr.B was in
"importunity"
The Might night Knocks
This is Spiritual darkness! But Even at this situation, we will have Visitors to our doors, seeking rest and food. There are hungry friends all around us. And they take asylum with in
the hope that they will get what they want.
In Jer.4:4 , we read, "The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to
the roof of his mouth for thirst:
the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh
it unto them.
We are living in the times of Jeremiah! who forth told the captivity of the People of the Lord and the destruction of Jerusalem etc..During the month of
August, people around us, fast and go to their temples, severely puncturing
their bodies. Long iron rods are pierced through their mouths and bodies. They
pull heavy Chariots. This is a sorrowful month for me and I close the doors of
my house and Cry to the Living God to strop this and draw
Mr.B, is like the one who stands in the gap. Please! read. Eze. 22:30 " And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the edge, and stand in the gap before me for the world, that I should
not destroy it: BUT FOUND NONE".
Jesus, is our man standing in the gap now! How ever he needs a man to go to the house of Mr.A, and keep
knocking till he got some bread. Mr.B,
was not a beggar. Some times, the people who stand in the middle are
misunderstood and are treated as
beggars and this is pure spiritual ignorance and immaturity. It is a paradox that people who are given the mission of
serving others always lack worldly goods. And that's how Mr. B, was and he had
to go to his friends, asking for bread, to feed the hungry friend.
Mr.B, was not ashamed to tell out his importunity. In vernacular translations the word, Importunity is translated as,” because he asked with pleadings".
Yes!
Mr.B, stood at the doors of Mr.A, pleading for his friend.
Look at Jesus style of Asking! In Heb.5:7, " Who in the days of his
flesh, when he had offered up his prayers and supplications with strong crying
and tears unto Him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that
he feared" Mr. A was moved with his friend's pleadings!
The Bible says, "He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him back." (Prov.19:P17)
There is a hungry world on an eternal journey and few come to us seeking rest
and food! And may the Lord help us to serve him, always asking in faith and always
standing on the gap.
Pray for us that the Lord may show mercy to us.
Sincerely,
Rev.Dass.T
